Texas State University – Mukherjee Lab invites applications for a fully funded PhD position focusing on malaria pathogenesis with emphasis on membrane protein biogenesis in Plasmodium falciparum. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong interest in molecular parasitology, infectious diseases, and interdisciplinary biomedical research.
• Ability to conduct independent research while collaborating in a team.
• Excellent scientific communication and research skills.

Responsabilités

• Investigate intracellular trafficking of transmembrane proteins in Plasmodium falciparum.
• Study membrane protein biogenesis using molecular and cellular approaches.
• Apply genetic manipulation, protein biochemistry, and advanced fluorescence microscopy.
• Participate in project development, manuscript preparation, grant writing, and mentoring undergraduates.
• Contribute to drug discovery research in antimalarial targets.
