Job summary

JSR Tech Consulting seeks a Full Stack Developer/Engineer in a hybrid role based in Newark, NJ. You will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers and delivery professionals to code, test and debug applications while delivering scalable solutions that impact the business.

You will use React, Node.js, Java and modern AWS services, with an emphasis on REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with React.js (hooks, state management, component-based architecture) for building responsive, scalable UIs.
• Solid backend development experience using Node.js (Express/NestJS) and RESTful API design.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript across full stack (frontend + backend).
• Experience designing and integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda).
• Working knowledge of containerization using Docker and deployment to AWS ECS (or EKS).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments in AWS environments.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (VPC, IAM, load balancing, auto scaling).
• Proficiency with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL) and query optimization.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch).

Responsibilities

• Build applications following latest coding practices and industry standards; code against the roadmap with guidance.
• Develop high quality, well documented and efficient code adhering to Prudential standards.
• Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories; work with tech leads on design.
• Write unit, integration tests and functional automation; address issues found by QA or support.
• Identify opportunities to introduce feedback, learning and innovation.
• Tackle problems of diverse scope requiring data-based analysis.
• Use Python, Java, or JavaScript with React, Springboot, and Node.js frameworks.

Full Stack Developer/Engineer

As a Software Engineer you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers and delivery professionals. You will code, test and debug new and existing applications as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to delight our customers! Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

• Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards, using modern design patterns and architectural principles; with guidance, actively code against the roadmap
• Develop high quality, well documented and efficient code adhering to all applicable Prudential standards
• Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact
• Write unit, integration tests and functional automation, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support, developing solutions to address the problems
• Bring an understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, begin to identify opportunities to provide feedback to the team, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day
• Work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Use programming languages including but not limited to Python, Java, or JavaScript and React, Springboot, Node.js frameworks
