Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services for residents of long-term care facilities. You will prescribe medications, including controlled substances as allowed by WA law, order and review treatments, and coordinate with nursing home staff and the primary care physician to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an unrestricted WA NP license with board certification and wound care experience in geriatric settings; demonstate

Qualifications

• Unrestricted NP license in WA
• Board Certification in NP
• DEA licensure (optional)
• Clinical background in adult/family/geriatric
• Wound care experience with chronic/infected wounds
• Comfort diagnosing/treating diabetic, arterial, venous wounds and Kennedy ulcers
• Ability to stage pressure injuries per NPIAP
• Familiar with wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers)
• Experience with wound VACs and DME
• Willingness to pursue wound certification
• Experience in long-term care settings
• Ability to work with an EMR
• Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with WA Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of WA.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
