Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ashland, VA is seeking a warehouse selector to accurately and efficiently pick products for Wegmans stores. You will work overnight four 10-hour shifts per week, using a forklift, pallet jack and Vocollect to build safe pallets and protect the cold chain.

You should have prior experience with pallet jacks, forklifts and Vocollect, and be able to lift 20–25 lbs regularly with occasional heavier loads. Wegmans offers a strong benefits package and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pallets are built safely and efficiently to minimize damage and maximize trailer space.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and Vocollect.
• Perform order audits for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards and product requirements.
• Inform management of daily quality issues using reports and other communication.
• Maintain cold chain integrity on loads with temperature requirements.
• Lift weight of 20–25 pounds on average, with occasional maximums over 50 pounds.

Job Description:

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you'll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule:

Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note : Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00 /hour
