Job summary

Olameter is seeking a Full Time Utility Meter Reader in Ruidoso, NM. Join a field-based role that lets you work independently outdoors with a company vehicle provided

You'll read residential and commercial meters, record usage, and ensure accurate billing. The schedule runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with limited weekend work and on-call duties as needed. Training is paid and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving record.
• Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately.

Responsibilities

• Read electric utility meters and record volume used by residential and commercial customers to ensure accurate consumption and billing.
• May perform visual meter inspection to assess condition and operation of the meter and note any defects or issues.

Full Time Utility Meter Reader

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for reading electric utility meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing. May perform visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving record
• Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately

Working Conditions and Hours:

• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; limited work hours on weekends except for periodic on-call duty and mass workloads
• Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
• Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
