Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking caring, dependable Assistant Guides for the Deerbrook campus in Northbrook, IL. No Montessori experience required; training and growth opportunities are provided. We welcome applicants from childcare, preschool, nannying or related fields who are passionate about supporting young children.

You will work in a Montessori environment serving 0–6-year-olds, helping create calm, engaging spaces and supporting individualized activities as part of a collaborative team.

Your Impact

As an Assistant Teacher (Assistant Guide), you'll support a Montessori classroom serving infants, toddlers or preschool-aged children, helping create a calm, engaging environment where children are empowered to explore, learn and grow at their own pace.

In a Montessori classroom, the environment and the guide work together to support each child's development. You'll assist in preparing beautiful, intentional learning spaces and support children through individualized and small-group activities, always with respect, patience and care.

Most importantly, you'll help children build confidence in themselves and discover what they're capable of achieving.

New to Montessori? That's okay! Our team will help you learn the Montessori approach and develop the skills you need to feel confident and successful in the classroom.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications:

Experience that is helpful but not required:

Previous experience in childcare, daycare or preschool

Experience as a nanny, babysitter or camp counselor

Experience working with infants, toddlers or preschool-aged children

Montessori classroom experience

No Montessori training? No problem! We provide training and ongoing support to help you become a confident Montessori educator.
