Job summary

Happy Campers De Soto Montessori School in Kansas is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Teacher to support our infant through 6-year-old mixed-age classroom. The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, and passionate about working with children of all ages.

You will assist with daily routines, learn Montessori methods, and collaborate with lead teachers to maintain a calm, engaging classroom. This position offers full-time benefits and opportunities to gain hands-on experience in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• Passion for working with young children in a nurturing environment
• Ability to multitask and adapt to different age groups throughout the day
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to learn Montessori methods and philosophies
• KDHE Foundations of Health and Safety Course (Training provided)

Responsibilities

• Assist with caring for infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing
• Support toddlers and preschoolers in daily activities and routines
• Help maintain a calm, engaging, and organized classroom environment
• Encourage positive social interactions and model respectful behavior
• Engage children in hands-on learning, play, and outdoor activities
• Assist with classroom organization, meal/snack times, and clean-up
• Work closely with lead teachers and other staff to create a positive learning atmosphere
