Job summary

The Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL) in South Pasadena, CA is seeking a full-time Teacher Aide to join our dedicated teaching team. You will support students with exceptional needs, reinforce lessons, supervise during activities, and collaborate with teachers to plan daily instruction.

We offer a competitive hourly salary of $18.75 to $20.62, 4 weeks of paid vacation, holidays, sick days, comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, a mentorship program, and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Willing to complete an in-house, 10-week training program.
• CPR and First Aid certificates required (or provided via in-house training).
• Background check through FBI & DOJ required.
• TB test within 2 months.

Responsibilities

• Support students with exceptional needs to access and engage in curriculum and activities.
• Reinforce lessons presented by teachers one-on-one or in small groups.
• Supervise students in class, between classes, lunch, recess, and field trips.
• Meet with teachers to review daily lesson plans and contribute ideas.
• Support behavior management using positive strategies and data collection.
• Complete paperwork (incidents, reports, data) in a timely manner.
