Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist (Pediatrics) in Phillipsburg, NJ.

You will evaluate and treat voice, fluency, speech, language and swallowing disorders and collaborate with a rehab team to provide high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include documenting progress, communicating with families and referrers, and participating in quality improvement and continuing education activities.

Qualifications

• Doctoral or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current license to practice Speech Pathology in PA or NJ, based on location.
• CCC-SLP certification required and CPR certification in place or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Bills patient's accounts for equipment and services rendered.* Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff members, physicians and referral sources.* Maintains and upgrades clinical skills by participating in continuing education activities, shares knowledge with peers.* Participates in patient care conferences (eg. Rehab team) as needed, departmental programs (eg. Better Speech and Hearing Month activities), in-services, and departmental and section meetings.* Participates in Quality Improvement activities in the Department and the hospital.* Demonstrates productivity in terms of volume of patients seen for speech pathology services.**PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:**Sitting for up to 5 hours per day, 2 hours at a time. Standing and walking up to 6 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Twisting, bending, kneeling, reaching, forward frequently to interact with patients. Lifting adults, infants and children up to 50 lbs. frequently to transfer from chair to floor and back, and frequently carrying from one place to another. Adequate strength and mobility to calm patients with disruptive behaviors (eg. Confused, combative adults, children with temper tantrums who lift tables and chairs, throw toys, etc.) Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment controls. Good vision and hearing to observe subtle verbal and nonverbal behaviors and to read Video Barium Swallow Studies.**EDUCATION:**Doctoral degree or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent, required upon hire or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Pennsylvania or New Jersey, based on work location, is required. The Speech Language Pathologist shall work within the practice guidelines as defined by Pennsylvania or New Jersey state law (based on work location).**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:**Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is required. Pennsylvania license in Speech Pathology. Current CPR certification.**MINIMUM - MAXIMUM COMPENSATION PAY RANGE:**$69,450.00 - $111,120.00St Luke's University Health Network is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States.
