Job summary

Bruce Drysdale Elementary in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Teacher-Exceptional Children to provide instruction to students with special needs. This is a permanent full-time position with full benefits, starting January 4, 2027, under the EC department.

The teacher will report to the Principal and hold North Carolina teaching certification. Responsibilities include planning individualized instruction, developing IEPs where applicable, collaborating with families, and maintaining a safe

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in special education.
North Carolina Teacher Certification required.
Proficiency with personal computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
Create a classroom environment that motivates student involvement and helps each student achieve objectives.
Plan, coordinate, and continuously improve instruction for all students.
Prepare for classes and demonstrate preparation upon request.
Use instructional methods and resources to motivate and enable learning objectives.
Monitor student performance and growth.
Maintain safety for students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Develop relationships with parents, colleagues, administrators and the community.
Be available to students/parents outside instructional day when needed.
Self-assess effectiveness and apply new skills to improve effectiveness.
Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as required by the Principal.
