Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join a Minneapolis team for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite role emphasizes IEP development, due process compliance, and case management to support diverse learners and maintain high-quality services.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with administrators, service providers, and families, ensuring accurate documentation, timelines, and inclusive education practices throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Minnesota Special Education teaching license.
• Experience with IEPs, due process, and compliance.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and student needs.
• Serve as the primary case manager for assigned students.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
• Facilitate IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and team conferences.
• Maintain compliance with IDEA, Minnesota SPED regulations, and district policies.
• Manage due process timelines, documentation, and procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork and records.
• Collaborate with administrators, related service providers, teachers, and families.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies.
• Implement accommodations and evidence-based interventions.
• Support positive behavior strategies and inclusive practices.
• Advocate for student success while maintaining procedural integrity.
