Job summary

LEARN Academy in Arizona seeks a Substitute Program Aide to support students with special needs in academics, self-help, social and emotional regulation, language, and motor development. You will work closely with certified staff to promote functional independence and academic success.

The position offers entry pay at $18 per hour with performance-based increases and a $0.50 per hour premium for bachelor’s degree holders.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Willingness to train and learn about disability categories and learning differences.
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback from peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to individuals and/or groups of students.
• Support social-emotional, adaptive behavior, and social-skill development.
• Collect data on student progress toward goals/objectives as directed by teaching and clinical teams.
• Reinforce academic behaviors taught by certified staff.
• Assist students in community, recreational, school, and leisure activities under supervision.
• Implement organization-approved de-escalation and safe physical restraint techniques (training provided).
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration and certified staff.
