Highland Animal Hospital, located in West Texas, is hiring a full-time veterinarian to join a busy, supportive team. You will work with small animals in a fast-paced, client-focused practice with a skilled support staff and modern diagnostic resources.

Qualifications

  • DVM degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • DEA/BNDD eligibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; and more than 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose diseases or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples; interpret results.
  • Advise owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Provide counsel on pet end-of-life care.
  • Maintain patients' medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and policies.
