Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide direct dietary services to residents under supervision.
  • Follow sanitation procedures and proper food handling guidelines.
  • Participate in a team approach to dining services and resident care.
  • Attend supervisory meetings and staff training as required.
  • Perform meal cleanup duties and use equipment safely.
  • Report repairs or maintenance needs to the supervisor and act as a dietary resource.

Job description

Responsible for preparation and direct dietary services of foods to residents/ consumers under the direction and supervision of the Dietary Manager. The position will provide direct dietary services to residents/consumers within the community. Generally, to be a part of a team effort for the overall effective operations to dining services.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMust be willing to follow standards and procedures set forth by the Dietary Manager.Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures for successful practiceA high level of energyGood communication skillsGood motivational skillsStrong organization skillsBe a team builderHave general knowledge of dietary systemsParticipates in a team approach to resident / consumer being cognizant of and responsive to the needs of that resident / consumerActs as a resource person for staff regarding dietary / dining related concerns/issuesRecognizes an on-going responsibility to work for the continuing improvement in the overall functioning of his/her specific area of Dietary / Dining and makes appropriate suggestions in this regardParticipates in Quality Assurance activities as requestedAttends a regular supervisory meeting with Management which includes staffing issues, troubleshooting, and dietary reviewParticipates in staff training and educationPerforms clean-up duties as needed for each meal serviceUses equipment and materials carefully, and in a safe manner, following correct operation and cleaning proceduresReports all repair and maintenance needs to the supervisorPerforms other duties as assignedLegal RequirementsEmployees in this position must successfully pass all governmental and corporate required background investigations, such as, but not limited to, state required criminal history clearance investigations.Education and/or ExperienceStrong people skills are required. A background in restaurant food service is preferred. Knowledge of food handling, serving procedures, and experience in customer service is also preferred.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsA current state food handler’s card is mandatory, current driver’s license is mandatory, and current ServeSafe Certificate is preferred, but not mandatory.Physical DemandsThe physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
