Qualifications

• Alaska teaching certificate with SPED endorsement required.
• Experience or evidence of content knowledge via degree/minor or Praxis scores in SPED content area.
• K-3 Alaska Reads Act compliance required for appropriate grades.

Responsibilities

• Describe philosophy of education and relate it to practice.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for effective learning.
• Organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, work time and assessment.
• Develop lesson plans and provide individualized and small group instruction.
• Incorporate current technology for instruction and record-keeping.
• Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with families and staff.
