The role requires conducting armed patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, and verifying credentials while delivering courteous, professional service to congregants, staff, students, and guests.

Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, professional Armed Security Officer to support safety and security operations at a premier religious institution and community center in the North Miami area. The ideal candidate is disciplined, attentive, and committed to providing high level security, cultural sensitivity, and exceptional customer service. This role involves performing duties that include access control operations, conducting thorough foot patrols, securing facility facilities and people, performing surveillance, utilizing security technology, completing detailed reports, responding effectively to emergency situations, and preventing criminal activity—all while maintaining a courteous, welcoming, and professional demeanor when interacting with congregants, staff, students, and guests. Job Type: Full-time

• Pay Rate: $19.00 to $20.76 per hour

1st & 2nd shift open availability

Schedule subject to change based on needs of the temple, must be willing to work weekends as needed.

They demonstrate excellent judgment, remain calm under pressure, and take initiative when responding to security situations. They communicate clearly, uphold high customer service standards, and represent the facility with a polished, respectful presence in a fast paced, community-focused setting.

Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols (interior and exterior) to watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.

• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and facility access points to ensure constant site awareness.
• Sound alarms or call police/fire departments immediately in the event of fire, medical emergencies, or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property by verifying guest, staff, member, and vendor credentials and strictly monitoring all entrances and exits.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs to ensure all shift events are documented for management.
• Provide high-level customer service by aiding members, visitors, employees, and school families in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
• Act as a visible deterrent to crime while maintaining a safe and secure environment for all patrons and community members.

Possess valid Florida Class D and G security licenses

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• 1 year of experience in a high-profile community center, private school, or religious institution environment performing patrol, access control, and security dispatch duties
• Experience with commercial gate/door access systems
• Experience with modern CCTV and camera surveillance systems

S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States

• Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the position

Indoor and Outdoor Assignments: Environmental Exposure: Ability to perform duties in both indoor and outdoor settings. Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing), walk for extended periods, traverse the property, or move between posts for the duration of an 8-hour shift, or as operationally required. Emergency Response: Must be able to react quickly to emergency situations, which may include running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.

• Sensory Abilities: Must have the visual acuity to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and the auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate via two-way radio or telephone.
• This is typically required only in response to emergency situations, the relocation of safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, traffic cones), or the removal of hazards from the property.
