Job summary

The Lebanon Special School District is seeking a Teacher to deliver instruction to students in the Lebanon, Tennessee area. The role reports to the Principal and starts immediately, with an exempt status.

Qualified applicants must be licensed according to Tennessee requirements and commit to maintaining certification. The position requires adhering to district standards, maintaining accurate records, and engaging with parents to support student learning.

Qualifications

• All teachers shall be licensed in accordance with state law and the regulations of the Tennessee Department of Education.
• Such license shall be on file in the Director of School’s Office prior to beginning employment.
• The employee must secure a certificate and maintain its validity.
• The Director of School shall suspend the teacher without pay if the certificate lapses or becomes invalid, pending disposition of the matter.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to the students in the areas assigned by the Board, Director of Schools, and Principal.
• Record attendance accurately and daily.
• Follow Tennessee curriculum standards and local course of study; follow state rules and local policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with home, parents, and the community.
• Communicate student progress to parents and hold conferences as necessary.
• Administer assessments, record scores, interpret data to improve instruction.
