Job summary

The Vicksburg-Warren School District invites applications for a Speech Language Pathologist in the Special Education department in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The position reports to the Director of Special Education and is available for immediate starting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• MSDE certification/approval in special education.
• Minimum of three years in special education with at least one year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Organizes a program addressing local school speech-language goals.
• Coordinates speech-language services with other school personnel.
• Serves as a resource to school staff in developing a balanced program for communication and speech.
• Assists teachers in observing and referring suspected speech-language impairments.
• Provides assessments and diagnoses of speech, voice, and language impairments.
• Screens students for speech-language issues at regular intervals.

Education

Master's degree or equivalent

Full approval in at least one area of special education

Three years of successful experience in special education and one year of supervisor experience
