Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Neptune Township, NJ, is seeking full-time cooks for immediate hire. Location is Neptune Township, NJ 07753. Schedule is Monday–Friday, with hours varying by school calendar. Previous cooking and food service experience is preferred. Training is available.

Responsibilities include preparing meals per standardized recipes, portioning, and maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness. Benefits and team support are provided as part of Chartwells K-12's comprehensive program.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking and food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food per recipes to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery with proper portions and temperatures.
• Maintains records for service and ticketing.
• Keeps kitchen clean and stores/discards excess food safely.
• Maintains refrigeration and storerooms in good condition.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
• Assists in production planning and reporting.
• Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies.
• Reports maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Attends safety trainings and meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with staff and customers.
• Works safely and follows company policies including gloves and PPE.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to HACCP standards for presentation and temperatures.
