Job summary

Alhambra Elementary School District is seeking a School Nurse (LPN/RN/BSN) to promote student health and minimize absences due to illness at the District Office in Phoenix, AZ. Immediate start for a nine-month position with benefits per Board policies.

The role requires an active LPN, RN, or BSN license and insulin administration capability, with confidentiality and accurate data transcription. Training in health and emergency care is desirable and essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid LPN, RN license or BSN.
• Insulin injections training is required.
• Must be able to handle confidential records and maintain legible handwriting.
• Health/emergency treatment skills training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency health services for illnesses or injuries at school per procedures with the principal.
• Escort ill students to home or hospital when needed.
• Administer medications per district policy.
• Observe students to detect health needs (e.g., lice, impetigo).
• Maintain health files and supplies; document communications as directed.
• Participate in in-service training programs.
• Maintain health office environment and order supplies.
• Maintain immunization records and provide mandated screenings.
• Complete state immunization reports.
• Collaborate with district health partnerships and outside agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
