Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities. The role reports to the Campus Facilities Manager and may require occasional night or weekend work to support events and operations.

Responsibilities include general cleaning, floor care, restrooms, trash removal, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment for students and staff in Houston and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years housekeeping/janitorial experience, preferably in a school setting
• Willingness to work occasional night/weekend shifts
• Ability to lift and carry 20-50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Open facilities for use and perform safety checks
• Maintain a safe, clean learning environment for students and staff
• Perform general cleaning: sweep, mop, restrooms, trash removal
• Clean entrance windows and restock supplies
• Move and rearrange furniture for events and daily operations
• Attend meetings and ongoing training on cleaning standards
