Job summary

Southwest Foodservice Excellence is seeking a dependable Food Service Worker to support daily school cafeteria operations. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain a clean and safe dining area, and assist teammates to ensure smooth service for students and staff.

The role emphasizes reliability, ability to work with others, and adherence to health regulations, with a full-time schedule Monday through Friday and occasional events. Prior food service or cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous food service or cleaning experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and following a routine.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Enjoys working around children and being part of a school community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and service area.
• Stock serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
• Follow proper procedures for food storage, rotation, and sanitation.
• Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Assist with putting away deliveries and organizing inventory.
• Sweep, mop, and take out trash as needed.
• Follow all local, state, federal, and company health regulations.
• Step in to assist team members or cover shifts as needed.
• Submit reports and meet deadlines as assigned.
• Carry out any additional duties to support the kitchen team and school meal program.
