Job summary

Westport Community Schools in Westport, MA is hiring a Food Service Staff for the Westport Middle-High School cafeteria. The role runs Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 2:00pm and pays $18 to $22 per hour, with emphasis on efficiency, cleanliness, and friendly service.

You will assist in meal prep and serving, operate POS systems, maintain sanitation, stock supplies, and support daily kitchen and dining room operations in a professional school environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to prepare and serve food and maintain sanitation.
• Physical strength for lifting and stocking inventory.
• Learn operation of all food service equipment including POS.
• Grooming and cleanliness suited to food service.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred; citizenship/residency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of meals.
• Operate food service equipment and stock serving counters.
• Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and utensils.
• Ensure food supply is replenished during service.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen and dining areas.
• Sell tickets/tokens.
• Assist in deposits.
• Receive and rotate deliveries; maintain inventories and records.
• Record food temperatures and sanitize equipment.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
• Use kitchen equipment safely.
• Attend in-service education.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
