West Des Moines Community Schools in West Des Moines, IA is seeking Extra School Bus Drivers to support transportation needs during the school year. Typical hours are 6 hours per day (6am-9am, 2pm-5pm) with opportunities for additional hours and summer training.

Starting immediately with wage of $22.31 per hour and potential increases with prior experience. Extra drivers provide coverage on a consistent schedule while routes vary daily.

Qualificações

• Must meet state driver qualifications and district policies.
• Ability to follow routes and time schedules.
• Ability to perform pre/post inspections and routine maintenance.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to train and work extended hours when available.

Responsabilidades

• Provide transportation according to District policy and local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Follow designated routes accurately, in accordance with time schedules and stops.
• Learn and effectively drive all bus routes to fill in for absent bus drivers.
• Quickly and safely adapt to job or route assignment changes.
• Perform bus assistant job duties as assigned.
• Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloading of students.
• Maintain order and discipline on bus.
• Perform routine operator maintenance to include: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaning windshields, reporting equipment defects and presenting bus for maintenance.
• Participate in all training pertaining to the job.
• Report all accidents immediately to the Transportation Supervisor or designee.
• Complete and submit daily mileage, student conduct/incident or other reports and documentation as required.
• Operate a school bus or other District vehicles safely to provide transportation for students, staff and community.
• Participate in all required drug and alcohol testing.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Operate vehicles during inclement weather.
• Complete all training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
