Job summary

TechnoSphere, Inc. seeks a Senior Migrations Engineer to drive enterprise-scale migrations from on-premises to AWS, working embedded with AWS ProServe teams for a major financial services client.

You will be a hands-on cloud expert and architecture advisor on complex, high-throughput applications and databases. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in cloud engineering, strong IaC, AWS services, and migration tooling experience, plus an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in systems engineering, software or infrastructure with AWS migrations.
• 3+ years in financial services with security and data protection knowledge.
• Deep hands-on AWS: EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
• Production IaC with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• CDK development in Python or TypeScript for multi-account deployments.
• Experience with migration tooling: MGN, DMS, or equivalents.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate is required; Professional preferred.

Job Title: Senior Migrations Engineer – Compute & Databases (AWS)

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a Senior Migrations Engineer to the client, AWS practice and work embedded with AWS Professional Services (ProServe) teams on a major enterprise-wide initiative to migrate and modernize a complex, legacy on-premises application portfolio to AWS for a leading financial services institution. You will be embedded directly within specific application development teams as their dedicated architecture advisor and hands-on cloud expert, providing end-to-end technical guidance for migrating highly complex, high-throughput financial applications and their databases from on-premises data centers to AWS. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of deep technical experience, a proven track record of executing complex cloud migrations, strong architectural knowledge, and hands-on mastery of Infrastructure as Code and AWS services.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, software development or infrastructure engineering, with a heavy focus on hands-on AWS cloud engineering and migrations.
• Financial Services: 3+ years working within a financial services institution (investment banking, retail banking, fintech or clearinghouses), with a strong understanding of financial security, compliance and data protection requirements.
• AWS Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, ECS, EKS and Lambda; VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53 and ELB/ALB; S3, RDS, Aurora and DynamoDB; IAM, KMS, CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Infrastructure as Code: Advanced, production-proven experience writing declarative infrastructure with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• AWS CDK: Development with AWS CDK in Python or TypeScript, including the ability to design CDK construct architectures, review constructs for best practices and guide teams on CDK patterns for multi-account, multi-environment deployments.
• Migration Tooling: Hands-on experience with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or equivalent enterprise migration tooling.
• AWS Certification: Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (required); Professional preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Database Migration Depth: Migrating production Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases to Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, including AWS SCT, DMS change data capture and schema or stored-procedure conversion.
• Modernization: Refactoring applications to containers (ECS Fargate, EKS) or serverless architectures as part of migration waves.
• Additional Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Consulting: Prior experience with AWS ProServe or in a consulting delivery role.
