Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Pasadena, TX is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide advanced therapy, patient assessment, and life-support support across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will administer modalities such as HHN, IPV, CPT and inhaled therapies, monitor patients, perform ABG and PFT testing, and assist with airway management and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• TX Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• RRT certification required.
• BLS-CPR certification required within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapy modalities (HHN, IPV, CPT, pentamidine).
• Administer medical gas therapy (oxygen, HeO2).
• Perform ventilation therapies and transport of patients.
• Monitor physiologic parameters and perform diagnostic testing (ABG, PFT, capnography).
• Perform specialized procedures including CPR and airway care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Essential Function

• Administering therapy modalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN), HHN viametered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT),Pentamidine therapy.
• Medication administration may be included during these therapy modalities
• Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2).
• Performing ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. Thesetherapies are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, as well as transport of ventilatorpatients to diagnostic procedures
• Performs physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing including, ABG puncture, bronchoscopy assistance,pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring, apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring,capnography, and pulse oximetry and sleep apnea assessment.
• Performs specialized procedures which including but is not limited to, CPR, bronchial lavage, transport,cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation.

Where You'll Work

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.

Pay Range

$34.00/ $56.10 hourly
