Job summary

Excelsior Care Group is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (Full Time) to join the Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center team. The PTA will provide individualized therapy under supervision of a licensed PT, focusing on residents' care plans and functional goals.

The role requires an active PTA license in New Jersey, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently in a nursing home setting.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered PTA license in the state.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Experience in a nursing home setting preferred.
• Strong ability to work independently and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide PTA services per care plans.
• Prepare residents for therapy sessions and ensure equipment is ready.
• Assist in transporting residents to therapy areas.
• Teach residents and staff the correct use of medical devices.
• Administer physical therapy in residents' rooms when necessary.
• Encourage residents to participate in ADL functions.
• Assist with various physical therapy treatments (exercises, diathermy, ultrasound, massage).
• Report and monitor resident responses to therapy and communicate progress.
• Maintain treatment records and resident files.
• Ensure positive relationships with families and the medical team.
• Assist with administrative tasks and maintain records.
• Train and support other PTA personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy areas.
