Job summary

Ironstate Properties in New York, NY is seeking a responsible Porter to maintain cleanliness and safety at our residential properties. This full-time role supports on-site teams and residents by performing housekeeping tasks and minor maintenance.

Starting pay is $23.08 per hour, with an additional $12.25 after 3 months; schedule is Tuesday–Saturday. Applicants should have housekeeping or janitorial experience, be physically able to lift 40+ lbs, and operate standard cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established schedules for trash collection and disposal.
  • Sweep and mop floors and stairwells; maintain lobby and common areas.
  • Report damages promptly for timely repairs.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and manage inventory.
  • Place hazard signs to promote safety around the building.
  • Communicate equipment or maintenance issues to the manager.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure resident safety.
  • Complete minor work orders (painting, changing bulbs, turnovers).

Join our dynamic team at Ironstate Properties, a premier residential real estate developer and manager of luxury apartment rentals. We're currently looking for a responsible individual to fill the role of Porter in one of our prime locations in New York, NY. As a Porter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the impeccable standards of our properties. If you embody professionalism, responsibility, dedication, and hard work, we want to hear from you.

This is a full-time position.

Rate: Based on NYC Prevaling Wage schedule:
  • Starting Rate: $23.08 per hour.
  • Starting Supplemental Benefit Rate after 3 months of employment: $12.25
Schedule: Tuesdays - Saturdays
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to established schedules and methods for trash collection and disposal.
  • Ensure cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors and stairwells.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lobby, amenities areas, hallways, common areas, exterior grounds and garage.
  • Promptly report any damages for timely repairs.
  • Manage and restock cleaning supplies to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Promote safety by placing hazard signs, such as wet paint and wet floor signs, throughout the building.
  • Communicate any equipment or maintenance issues to the manager.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to create a secure living space for residents.
  • Complete minor work orders, including painting, changing light bulbs, and completing apartment turnovers.
Requirements:
  • 1 year experience in housekeeping, janitorial or related professional area is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial cleaning equipment, showcasing your expertise.
  • Physical fitness to perform tasks involving standing, bending, squatting, and lifting objects weighing 40+ lbs.
  • Reliability, professionalism, attention to detail, and thoroughness in your work.
  • Familiarity with the safe use of sanitation products and equipment.
