Job summary

Planned Companies is seeking an experienced porter to maintain clean public areas and restrooms at a Manhattan property. You will help ensure a clean, healthy and safe environment for tenants, guests and vendors, with a focus on professional presentation and attention to detail.

The role is full-time, requiring ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds. Previous cleaning experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is favored.

Qualifications

• Experience in similar roles using cleaning products and equipment to clean floors and carpets.
• Ability to work on a team as well as independently.
• Strong report writing and clear verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types.
• Stripping, buffing and waxing floors of various types.
• Dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Emptying trash cans and washing/drying windows.
• Requesting cleaning supply orders and reporting breakages/needed repairs.
• Assisting management with projects and other duties as requested.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm

Pay: $20/hour

Location: Manhattan, NY (Meatpacking District)

Summary

Residential and commercial property owners, now more than ever, realize how big a role Janitors play in protecting the health of tenants, guests, and vendors. So, Planned Companies Building Services (PBS) is looking to hire friendly and detail-oriented Janitors and Custodians to provide common area and bathroom cleaning services.

You’ll be ensuring tenants, guests and vendors have a clean, healthy and safe property to live or work in. It’s important to be polite and respectful as well as thorough and observant of what more can be done to provide the highest level of service.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types.
