• (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED) and have either a minimum of associate degree from an accredited secondary institution or 5 years full-time police experience.;
• (2) Must be Act 120 Certified or enrolled in Act 120 training and must pass the final exam before the date of hire.
• (3) Be a United States Citizen;
• (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a policeofficer;
• (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
• (6) Possess a valid motor vehicle operators license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The starting salary for the position is $74,846 (84hr pay period) and is accompanied by a generous benefit package. Experienced applicants may be eligible for lateral pay incentive after probation. Top salary for 2027 is $118,875 (84hr pay period)

Physical and Psychological Exams

The physical agility test will be conducted at the Allegheny County PoliceAcademy, located at 700 West Ridge Drive (North Park), Allison Park, PA 15101 on 9-22-26 at 9am. The written exam will be conducted at the same location immediately following the physical agility test. Photo ID is required for both tests.

In addition, successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Boroughs Hiring Policy that includes a background investigation, and if selected, be required to successfully pass physical and psychological examinations.
