Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 is seeking a full-time personal care assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator in Manheim, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing instructional and personal care support as per student's Individual Education Plans. A high school diploma and willingness to obtain a Paraeducator Credential are required.
The job includes working closely with students ranging from preschool to twenty-one years old, ensuring their educational and personal needs are met and providing support under teacher supervision.
Full‑time. 7.5 hours/day (7:30 am – 3:00 pm) Monday‑Friday, 185 days/year.
Minimum hourly salary: $18.90, with an opportunity to earn up to an additional $5,000 this school year.
The personal care assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator is assigned to provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support as outlined in the student’s Individual Education Plan. The assistant will be directed by the classroom teacher and is under the general supervision of the designated program supervisor.
The assignment is for a school year and may terminate at any time based on student placement or needs.
High School Diploma or GED AND one of the following:
The strength and ability to lift and/or assist lifting students ranging in age from pre‑school to twenty‑one and any assistive appliances (e.g., wheelchair). The ability to physically restrain students in emotional stress by using the Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM) or Quality Behavior Supports (QBS) method, depending on program need, for which training will be provided.
