Job summary

York Suburban School District is seeking a Full-Time Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support a student attending Dallastown Area Middle School as part of the Life Skills program. The PCA will be a member of the York Suburban team but report to the middle school.

Qualifications include either 48 college credits or a PDE Highly Qualified Special Education certificate, CAPE test pass, or equivalent; prior experience with students with disabilities preferred; background checks required.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education coursework (48 college credits).
• Highly Qualified Special Education Certificate through PDE.
• Passing score on CAPE Test.
• Ability to obtain highly qualified status through district opportunities.
• Experience with students with disabilities.
• Must obtain PA criminal, PA child abuse, and FBI background checks within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Support a YS student attending Dallastown Area Middle School in Life Skills classroom.
• Member of York Suburban School District team reporting to the middle school.

York Suburban School District is looking for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support a YS Student attending Dallastown Area Middle School as apart of their Life Skills classroom. This position would be a member of the York Suburban School District team but report to Dallastown Area Middle School.

TITLE: Full-Time Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.

Meet one of the paraprofessional competency training requirements below:

• Two years of post- secondary education coursework (48 college credits)
• Highly Qualified Special Education Certificate through PDE
• Passing score on the Comprehensive Assessment of Paraprofessional Educators (CAPE) Test
• Possess the ability to obtain highly qualified status through educational opportunities provided within the timeline of the district.
• Prior experience working with students with disabilities
• Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks (Use code 1KG6XN) within the last twelve (12) months.

BUILDING: This position will report to Dallastown Area Middle School to support the student.
