Cardinal Cushing Centers in Hanover, Massachusetts, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The role supports students with motor, visual/perceptual, sensory and functional needs within an integrated care model.

Qualifications

• Two years’ COTA experience; experience with special needs preferred.
• Completion of a recognized, accredited two year associates program
• Licensed and registered COTA
• A valid driver’s license
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist occupational therapist in evaluation and residential activities of daily living assessments.
• Provide services under an integrated model emphasizing collaboration with direct care staff
• Implement feeding program with OT and speech department and collaboration from staff
• Develop programs and group treatment ideas to meet students’ needs across settings
• Provide ongoing consultation regarding ADLs for safe participation of students
• Work with students on ADL skills including hygiene, toileting, domestic, community, social, behavioral and recreational skills
• Intervenes physically in behaviorally aggressive situations as trained (Safety Care)
• Perform all related administrative duties and document sessions and progress notes
• Attend faculty and transdisciplinary meetings and trainings
• Uphold mission and corporate values of St. Coletta & Cardinal Cushing Schools of Massachusetts
• Maintain regular attendance and report to work on time
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned
