Job summary

City Year is seeking entry-level, paid full-time City Year AmeriCorps members to coach and mentor students in elementary through high school. You’ll focus on academic success, attendance, and positive school behaviors.

Training is provided, and you will work with teachers and school staff to support classroom instruction and student progress, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and community impact.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Be 17–25 years old by July 1, 2025
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
• No more than three terms served in AmeriCorps state or national program
• Be able to pass a background check
• Able to begin City Year by July/August 2025

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to earn academic success, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with classroom activities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching, and collaborate with staff on data collection and reviews
• Support extended day and virtual programming, including enrichment and service activities
