Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service in St. Cloud, MN is hiring a Full-Time Package Handler to load, unload, and sort freight quickly and accurately to support timely deliveries.

Shifts are Monday-Friday with 5:00 PM or 10:00 PM starts; overtime is expected and paid after 40 hours, with hourly wages of $18.00-$20.00 depending on experience and shift differential. Responsibilities include unloading from fleet vehicles, scanning barcodes, sorting by destination, and maintaining a clean, safe warehouse

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and time management skills.
• Ability to read labels quickly and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
• Scan barcode labels during unloading for tracking.
• Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
• Stack freight to maximize space and prevent damage.
• Perform light custodial duties and maintain a safe warehouse.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The Full-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Hours and Wages

• Available Shifts:
  • Monday-Friday, 5:00PM Start
  • Monday-Friday, 10:00PM Start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
