Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in Omaha seeks a Full-Time Package Handler to load, unload, and sort freight quickly and accurately. The role offers $18.00-$20.00 per hour with overtime after 40 hours and a likely 10–15 hours of overtime weekly. Shift is Tue-Sat, 12:00 AM start, with additional overtime potential.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and up to 100 pounds occasionally; HS diploma preferred. Benefits include health/dental/life insurance, PTO, 401(k), and bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The Full-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Hours and Wages

• Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00AM start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed

Education and Experience

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
