Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Nurse Aide I for a full-time night shift in the Carolinas Rehabilitation NorthEast unit. The role includes assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and patient safety, with on-site responsibilities and weekend rotation. Requires NAb I registry, BLS, and RN-validated skills, plus ECG/venipuncture training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires.
• Current Nurse Aide I registry listing is required.
• American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Nurse Aide I+4 course completion.
• Observation activities completed and validated by RN.
• RN validation twice by an RN on each skill before independent work.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with activities of daily living.
• Assists with personal hygiene.
• Takes vital signs and measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients per procedures.
• Maintains patient rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Observes and reports changes in patient conditions.
• Orients patients/families to unit and safety measures.
• Handles clerical tasks: phones, data entry, medical records.
• Maintains stock items in inventory.
• Performs Nurse Aide I tasks per NCBON scope.
• Performs ECG and venipuncture with proper training.
• Additional tasks: Nutrition Activities, Oxygen Therapy, Peripheral IV Fluids, Urinary Catheter, Sterile Technique (NCBON requirements).
