Job Description

Full time, Benefit Eligible, Scheduled Hours 4pm - 12am

Custodians maintain a clean, safe, and functional learning environment by performing daily cleaning (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, trash removal), performing minor repairs, and securing the building. Their duties include managing inventory, setting up for events, and maintaining grounds. They must adhere to safety regulations, operate industrial equipment, and ensure classrooms and common areas are well-maintained.

Key Daily Cleaning Responsibilities

• Restroom Sanitation: Thoroughly cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking restrooms with paper goods and soap.
• Floor Care: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing floors in classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Trash Removal: Emptying trash receptacles, cleaning garbage cans, and disposing of waste in dumpsters.
• Sanitization: Cleaning desks, tables, whiteboards, lockers, and drinking fountains to maintain hygiene.
• Surface Maintenance: Dusting, washing windows, and cleaning glass and mirrors.
• Minor Repairs: Fixing broken furniture, repairing locks, and replacing light bulbs.
• Safety Monitoring: Reporting safety hazards, such as broken equipment or broken fixtures, to administration.
• Security: Locking doors, closing windows, and activating alarm systems after hours.

Support and Logistics

• Event Setup: Arranging tables and chairs for assemblies, sports events, and meetings.

Job Requirements

• Detailed Full time Night Custodian Duties

  Check in with Security officer to see building events for the night/week

  Vacuum and clean Collab wing, arrange furniture, board/meeting rooms cleaned and arranged, windows cleaned.

  (Monday nights are board meetings, therefore, it's imperative that board room and collab general area are neat and tidy. Bathrooms are cleaned all before 6pm Mondays)

  Clean remaining high school classrooms and vacuum.

  High school bathrooms

  High school/STEM and collab hallway trash. Make sure collab is organized and tidy. Furniture should be arranged the same each night

  High school hallway swept, clean staff workroom. Dishes put away and sinks/counters cleaned. Wash sinks with soft scrub once a week.

  Security/building check while collecting dirty rags and hallway trash. Place dirty rags in washer. (Morning staff will put in dryer)

  Once a month Kyvac and scrub bathrooms (high school and staff bathroom)

  Entry windows and entry garbages, vacuum if needed on game nights

  Recheck main bathrooms for tidiness, toilet paper, paper towels on games nights. Supervise game night clean up, takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

  Tuesdays and Thursdays - Zamboni all hallway and gym floors.

  Clean main bathrooms and tidy locker rooms

  Collect dirty rags while performing building lock up.
