Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is hiring for a Custodian A-Shift to maintain clean, safe school facilities. The position is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with ASAP start and a starting pay of $25.00 per hour under the Custodial Labor Agreement.

Qualifications

• Ability to get along with district employees and be courteous with students and the public.
• Knowledge of maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods for floors, boards, carpets, furniture and fixtures.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, tools, materials and supplies used in custodial work.
• Ability to learn custodial procedures, methods and schedules.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate custodial tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning functions on floors and surfaces using cleaning chemicals.
• Carry out minor maintenance to keep schools operational.
• Secure building and test fire alarms.
• Set up equipment for events and meetings.
• Inspect safety of building and grounds and report issues.
• Coordinate tasks and distribute supplies to staff.
