Job summary

Diagnostic Laboratories & Radiology is seeking a mobile phlebotomist to service client facilities, primarily nursing homes, driving routes as directed. You will collect and label specimens at patient bedsides while maintaining strict safety and biosafety standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, two years of driving experience with a clean record, a valid driver's license, and a current phlebotomy license if applicable. Heavy lifting and travel are involved.

• Must have a current State Driver's license with valid car insurance and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by dispatcher.
• Unloads phlebotomy supplies and collects samples at patient bedside.
• Identifies patients before collecting specimens and ensures proper labeling.
• Drops off specimens and maintains sanitary, sterile workflow.
• Communicates regularly with dispatcher about status and location.
• Adheres to universal precautions to prevent exposure to pathogens.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday (10:00am - 22:00pm)

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by company dispatcher.
• Unloads phlebotomy supplies and takes to patient's bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.
• Accurately identifies patient before collecting specimen(s).
• Accurately collects, labels, processes, and delivers specimens obtained from patients.
• Reloads equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.
• Regularly communicates with dispatcher to report status and location.
• Strict adherence to Universal Precautions in controlling blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures.
• Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational requirements.

Required Skills

• Practices excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities.
• Treats customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledging residents' rights and patients' right to refuse.
• Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license, if applicable.
