Job Overview

Sun River Health provides comprehensive primary, preventive, and behavioral health services to all patients regardless of insurance status, with a focus on underserved communities. We are seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant to support our Spring Valley location in Rockland County, New York.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete the rooming process and take vital signs, vision, and hearing tests; record patient data in eCW and document the reason for the visit.
• Perform in‑house laboratory tests, collect specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures), and perform quality control per protocols.
• Keep the clinical area stocked, maintain current supplies, and dispose of outdated materials.
• Clean and sterilize all equipment and log each service.
• Perform basic clerical tasks in the service area; answer phones appropriately, communicate problems to the nurse, and handle inquiries.
• Ensure all required logs are maintained.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate.

Preferred Education: Associate’s degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate.

Minimum related work experience: 0–1 year.

Compensation and Employment

Job Type: Full‑time.

Pay: $20.50 – $23.56 per hour.
