Job summary

Cub Hastings, part of United Natural Foods, Inc., seeks a Meat Manager to oversee the meat and seafood department, plan merchandising, manage labor, and drive sales while ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping experience for customers and a positive workplace for associates.

You will supervise staff, develop daily/weekly work plans, coordinate receiving, pricing, shrink control, and perform cutting/preparation to meet profit goals.

Job Overview:

Cub Hastings is looking for dedicated Meat Manager to join our team. As a Meat Manager, you plan and manage the meat and seafood department to promote sales and achieve profit margins, labor goals, and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, and a safe and positive working environment for associates.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist customers and ensure proper service levels and courtesy from all associates.
• Develop effective daily/weekly work plan based on weekly sales projections, budgeted labor goals and previous operating results.
• Implement and maintain coordinated, aggressive, and creative merchandising plans, using Division guidelines, which maximize sales, variety, and gross profit.
• Supervise meat and seafood associates to ensure efficient labor utilization and effectiveness in meeting department objectives.
• Manage meat and seafood receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control and inventory to ensure proper product control and that gross profit goals are met.
• Perform meat & seafood cutting and preparation.
• Train and develop meat and seafood department personnel.
• Supervise department safety and sanitation programs.
• Perform meat and seafood department personnel functions.
• Observe standards and procedures regarding store security and confidentiality.
• Follow all store and department policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or delegated.

Job Requirements:

• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Judgment/decision making, social skills and verbal interaction.
• Memorization, reading, writing and math.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs
• Equipment operation (meat slicer and scale, intercom, telephone)
• Walking and standing for up to entire shift.
