Work Environment

This position is structured around a remote outpatient office, allowing you the flexibility to provide care in a comfortable setting while still fostering direct connections with your clients. The therapist will work collaboratively with a diverse team of mental health professionals through video conferencing and digital communication tools. Although the primary schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, some flexibility may be required to accommodate patient needs, ensuring that every client receives the attention and care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain insights into patients' life experiences, challenges, and objectives.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that integrate culturally relevant practices and consider each patient's unique history and context.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, focusing on building resilience while addressing a spectrum of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
• Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment for each patient.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, utilizing strong crisis management techniques to maintain patient safety and well-being.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, helping them understand treatment options and available community resources.
• Maintain meticulous and secure documentation of patient interactions in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Actively participate in professional development through team meetings, case conferences, and cultural competency training initiatives.
• Stay informed on the latest research, best practices, and cultural considerations relevant to mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will engage with a broad spectrum of clients, including ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals from immigrant backgrounds. Your role involves understanding the social determinants of health affecting these populations and delivering tailored therapeutic interventions. You will establish meaningful connections through empathy and cultural awareness, thereby enhancing the therapeutic relationship and improving overall patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current, valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders, with a focus on evidence-based treatment methodologies and cultural competencies in the therapeutic context.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy using approaches that prioritize inclusivity and responsiveness to diverse patient backgrounds.
• Strong crisis management skills with the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure or urgent situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and rapport with a variety of individuals.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and general computer applications necessary for patient documentation.
• A steadfast commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and maintaining appropriate boundaries in patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of post-graduate experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably in settings that serve underserved populations.

Compensation and Benefits

Deeper Strength Counseling Services offers an attractive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
