Our practice is designed to serve ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations, ensuring that every patient feels welcomed, valued, and understood. We strive for excellence in accessible mental health care, making a positive difference in the lives of our clients and the broader community.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while allowing for occasional in-person opportunities at our outpatient office to foster team collaboration and patient connection. Our work hours run from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility to adjust schedules as necessary to best accommodate patient needs. This hybrid format allows for a healthy work-life balance and reduces commuting stress, enabling our therapists to focus on what matters most: providing quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct culturally sensitive mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ needs and preferences, facilitating the development of personalized treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, integrating culturally relevant approaches to address the unique challenges faced by individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at promoting mental health resilience and well-being while adjusting modalities based on the dynamic nature of group interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and social services professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, using your training and expertise to help stabilize and support individuals in distress.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, available treatments, and community resources to promote informed decision-making and support network development.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR), adhering to ethical and legal guidelines to ensure patient privacy.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and cultural competency trainings to continually enhance your understanding and skills.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by staying abreast of the latest research, treatment methodologies, and cultural considerations relevant to mental health therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will directly impact a multicultural client base, focusing on individuals who may face significant barriers to mental health resources. This includes ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other marginalized groups. By understanding their unique experiences and backgrounds, you will help create a supportive and therapeutic environment that fosters healing and growth.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid professional license as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist in the state of Texas.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and culturally competent approaches to therapy.
  • Demonstrated experience providing individual and group therapy, with a keen ability to adapt techniques to meet diverse client needs.
  • Effective crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building rapport with patients from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring efficient documentation practices.
  • A commitment to ethical practice, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with immigrant populations and an understanding of the specific challenges they face.
  • Familiarity with community resources relevant to diverse mental health needs.
  • Previous participation in programs or certifications related to cultural competency in therapy.
