Job summary

Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland seeks a faculty member for its Masters in Data Analytics and Visualization. The candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses and contribute to research and service in a diverse, research‑oriented environment.

The successful applicant will have a graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in Information Systems or related fields and will engage in multidisciplinary collaborations and university committees, with a minimum of 9 office hours

Qualifications

• Graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in Information Systems or related fields.
• Experience with data visualization, data analytics, AI/ML is desirable.
• Prior university teaching experience or credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Masters program in Data Analytics and Visualization, and in related undergraduate and doctoral courses.

• Maintain regular office hours on campus (minimum 9 hours).

Job Duties

The candidate will have shown expertise in areas of Information Systems (such as Data Visualization, Data Analytics, AI, ML). The candidate will participate in Department, School, and University committees. Teaching assignments will include courses in our Masters’s program in Data Analytics and Visualization, doctoral and undergraduate courses in Data Visualization, Data Analytics, AI, ML, and depending on background and qualifications, may include courses in computer literacy, management information systems, computer networks, cybersecurity, systems analysis and design, project management, supply chain management, and enterprise information systems ( SAP ). Engagement in multidisciplinary work with faculty with very diverse backgrounds is anticipated. Faculty must maintain a regular minimum of 9 hours of office hours on campus.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in Information Systems, or related disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering . Prior work experiences that use related skills are desirable, though not necessary.
