Job summary

The Sunshine Academy in Laurel, MT is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, developmentally rich room where every infant receives individualized care and families are kept well informed.

You will lead developmentally appropriate activities, document progress, and ensure safety and licensing compliance while partnering with families through our parent app.

Qualifications

• Montana Practitioner Registry Level 2 or higher or 2+ years of licensed early childhood experience.
• CDA or BA/Associates in Early Childhood Development or accredited preschool certification.
• Current CPR/AED, infant choking response, and standard/pediatric first aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Give each infant loving, responsive care following feeding/sleeping/diapering schedules.
• Support milestones with tummy time, sensory play, music, reading, and language.
• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate lessons, observe and document progress.
• Practice safe sleep and active supervision per regulations and Sunshine Academy policies.
• Keep diapering records accurate and sanitize toys and materials daily.
• Share daily updates, notes, and photos via our parent app and build trust with families.
• Keep the classroom calm, clean, organized, and assist other classrooms when needed.

Few jobs matter more than caring for someone's baby. As our Lead Infant Teacher in Laurel, you'll create a safe, nurturing, developmentally rich room where every infant gets loving, individualized care and every family feels truly informed.

What you'll do

• Give each infant loving, responsive care that follows their own feeding, sleeping, and diapering schedule.
• Support milestones with tummy time, sensory play, music, reading, and lots of language.
• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate lesson plans, and observe and document each child's progress.
• Practice safe sleep procedures and active supervision at all times, following licensing regulations and Sunshine Academy policies.
• Keep diapering records accurate and sanitize toys, equipment, and materials daily.
• Share daily updates, notes, and photos through our parent app, and build warm, trusting relationships with every family.
• Keep the classroom calm, clean, organized, and stocked, and pitch in to help other classrooms when needed.

What you'll need

• Level 2 or higher on the Montana Practitioner Registry, or 2+ years of experience in a licensed early childhood program, a CDA, a BA or Associate degree in Early Childhood Development, or an accredited preschool certification.
• Current infant, child, and adult CPR/AED, infant choking response, and standard and pediatric first aid (CPR completed in a hands-on class).
• Current on the ECP Practitioner Registry, including its annual training hours.
• Current MMR and Tetanus immunizations.
• Able to lift 45 pounds and move easily up and down from the floor.
• A calm, flexible, professional presence who keeps family and coworker information confidential.
