Job summary

Eurofins US Food Testing is seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Technician I in the Registration Department. You will handle outsourced samples, process client orders, and ensure timely COA releases across Eurofins laboratories. The role requires an AS/BS in a relevant field and strong attention to detail.

You will work Tue-Sat, 10:00am–6:30pm, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and paid vacation and holidays.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate would possess an AS or BS degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation.
  • Team spirit and a positive attitude are essential to success in this role.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Manage outsourced samples with partner Eurofins laboratories to ensure timely COA release for clients.
  • Prepare samples for submission to sister labs or other contract labs.
  • Process online orders from clients and sister labs.
  • Coordinate courier services to ensure timely delivery of samples.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics of courier routes.
  • Follow Quality System documents (Quality Manual, SOPPs, Methods).
  • Register incoming samples and maintain accurate records for quality control or regulatory purposes.
  • Enter sample data into Eurofins labware management system accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain supply inventory.
  • Adhere to health, safety, environment regulations and quality standards.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Part-Time Laboratory Technician I (Registration Department):

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Responsible for managing outsourced samples with partner Eurofins laboratories to ensure timely COA release for clients
  • Preparing samples to be sent to sister labs or other contract labs for subcontracted work
  • Responsible for processing online electronic orders from clients and sister labs
  • Works with external and/or internal courier services to ensure timely arrival and delivery of samples
  • Assists in coordinating logistics of courier routes when needed
  • Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, e.g., Quality Manual, SOPPs, and Methods
  • Registration of incoming samples, maintaining a neat and accurate record system of work performed on a daily basis and as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes
  • Enter the sample data into Eurofins labware management system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain supply inventory
  • Adhere to appropriate quality measures to meet or exceed the standards set by government regulatory, and company requirements relevant to assigned duties. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analytical work; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Identify process difficulties and report these together with proposed solutions to supervisor
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees. Communicate professionally, timely, and clearly to co-workers. This includes “intra” and “inter” departmental employees
  • Promote the company image through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices as related to the public and our customers
  • Continually strive to improve the quality of work we provide to our clients through existing and new technologies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned including appropriate aseptic preparation and processing of samples and associated process controls
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
