Job summary

Silverado Veterinary Hospital in Napa is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will focus on patient husbandry and care, meals and walks for boarding patients, medication administration, and careful observation documentation.

We value a self-driven, detail-oriented, organized approach, with a passion for animal wellbeing. This full-time role includes shifts of 5–8 hours and every other Saturday plus one Sunday per month, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a veterinary kennel assistant or kennel technician preferred.
• Passion for animal care and patient wellbeing.
• Confidence handling dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Focus on patient husbandry and care as well as housekeeping throughout the hospital.
• Provide meals and walks to boarding patients, administer medication, and monitor for medical or behavioral concerns.
• Document observations and maintain clean, stocked kennels and common areas.
