Job summary

Harris Teeter in Charlottesville, VA (Store 177) is seeking a full-time teammate to take care of customers, cut and process meat, and support store operations. You will unload stock, reload salvage, and maintain clean work areas to ensure a great shopping experience.

Role requires basic English reading/writing, strong interpersonal skills, and willingness to participate in required training. Must be 18+ and capable of lifts up to 50 pounds; work environment includes cool temperatures.

Job description

This is a full time position. Primary responsibility is to Take Excellent Care Of Our Customers by satisfying each customer.s needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires a defined level of product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with fellow associates to create An Incredible Place To Work and Shop. Responsible for efficiently cutting and processing the complete variety of meat products to achieve maximum yield and gross profit according to Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service unloading stock, and reloading salvage.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate constantly works in a cool environment with an average temperature range of 34-36 degrees Fahrenheit and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Compensation
  • Pay Transparency: Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $16.50/hour and $26.75/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.

You will be eligible for Harris Teeter’s group benefit plans that pertain to your position upon the completion of applicable waiting periods. Your eligibility for these benefits is subject to the terms of the applicable plan and Harris Teeter policy.
