Position Overview
This is a full‑time position. Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer’s needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires a defined level of product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with fellow associates to create an incredible place to work and shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently cut and process the complete variety of meat products to achieve maximum yield and gross profit according to Meat Standards.
- Clean work areas, provide customer service, unload stock, and reload salvage.
Essential Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (English).
- Ability to write simple correspondence (English).
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other associates.
Reasoning Ability
- Apply common sense to carry out detailed yet uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
- Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Complete company training including but not limited to new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service networking, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
- Occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; reach from 6‑72 inches.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color, and depth perception.
Work Environment
- Cool environment with an average temperature range of 34‑36°F; frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold.
- Noise level usually moderate to loud.
